A LETTER FROM PASTOR JERRY

Dear Friends,

Last August your church council, staff, and pastors gathered on a retreat about the vision of our congregation. The Holy Spirit worked in mighty ways to help us articulate: “Faith is a home where we walk a path of a Jesus-shaped life with God, each other, and the people we encounter.”

This fall, I’m inviting you to be a trailblazer on that path. Over the next five weeks we will explore how God was at work in the early church in the book of Acts, and how they were ALL-IN for God, each other, and the people they encounter. Together with the Lord’s leading we can move this vision from a dream to a reality in 2024 & 2025.

Our forerunners at Faith Lutheran on Menaul Blvd. in 1955 had a vision, with God’s guidance, of what Faith Lutheran could become. These next two years will be another important moment in the history of our church.

In the high desert that we call home many are quickly dehydrated without even knowing it, many are spiritually dehydrated without even knowing it. As the LORD called those who came before us, I believe God is calling us to respond for such a time as this, to be all-in for the Gospel. Let’s bring the life giving that Christ brings to the spiritually dehydrated, He promises in Him they will never thirst again.

In 2025 we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of our congregation, and what better way to honor that legacy than by walking on this Jesus-shaped path. I am grateful to be on that path with you and I’m excited about the future of Faith Lutheran. God’s Word does everthing, devoted to the Apostles teachings the LORD added to their number daily. Like they were, may we be, ALL-IN together leading others to Christ,

On this path together,
Pastor Jerry Watts
